Fundamentals of Mindfulness

Join Erick for an accessible in-depth training in mindfulness. This series is a great way to get started with mindfulness training. The 4-week (5 meeting) Fundamentals of Mindfulness class is based on the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction training*, offering essential learnings and practices in a shorter time frame.
Research over the last ten years has shown Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to reduce chronic pain and boost the immune system; to address painful mental states like anxiety and depression; to promote well-being and reduce emotional reactivity; to increase attention and focus; and to enlarge the brain in the areas of decision-making, flexibility and empathy.
This multi-week course in mindfulness promotes stress reduction, health, self-awareness and well-being. This is a highly participatory, experiential and practical course includes:
- Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices
- Gentle stretching and mindful yoga
- Inquiry exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life
- Group dialogue and small group exercises
- Home assignments
